Mr. Henry G. Elwell, Jr., 88, of Rary Road, Cleveland, died August 4, 2007 at his home. He was born in Roselle, N.J. on April 20, 1919 and was a son of the late Henry G. Elwell, Sr. and Hilda Johnson Elwell. Mr. Elwell was a graduate of Newark College of Engineering and had worked at Bendix Corporation from 1949 until his retirement in 1977. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II where he attained the rank of Lieutenant. He was married for 59 years to Millicent Livingston, KA4ECM, who preceded him in death. Ham radios were his hobby beginning at age 14. He was a member of the New Jersey Society for the Order of Founders & Patriots, a member of Temple Lodge # 173 A.F. & A.M. in Westwood, N.J., the American Radio Relay League, Quarter Century Wireless Association, the Rowan Amateur Radio Society and the Carolina DX Association.
