Irma Mae Frye, 78, of Scott City died Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 14, 1935, in Arriba, Colorado, to Herman Henry and Maggie Mae McCallum Brunke. She married John Grant Frye on Jan. 9, 1954, and celebrated 60 years of marriage. He preceded her in death Jan. 19, 2014.
Irma was a devoted wife and mother. She was a lifetime member of Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City and an active member of Sunny Hill Garden Club and SEMO Radio Club. Irma was a rural carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. She was formerly an active Girl Scout council troop leader.
Survivors include a son, Mike Frye of Scott City; three daughters, Patty (Tom) Schiwitz of Chaffee, Missouri, Donna (Mike) Essner of Scott City and Debbie (Carl) Kolkmeier of St. Charles, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Donna Frye of Cape Girardeau; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, John G. Frye III; a brother and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City and from 1 p.m. until time of service Monday at Eisleben Church.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Marty Hasz officiating. Burial will be in Eisleben Cemetery in Scott City.
