Mary “Sue” Wright, 77, of Hudson, Fl. passed away October 6, 2015. A Celebration of Her Life will be held Wednesday October 14, 10:30 am at Grace Memorial Funeral Home.
A native of Fort Lauderdale, Fl. She came to the area in 2005. Sue was a passionate person of her beliefs and work ethic and people focused, she loved and cared for her family and friends very deeply. She retired from the University of Virginia in 1992 as Assistant Director of Medical Technology, but she found staying at home would not due for her and went on to take a part time job at a bakery. From 1998 till 2005 Sue and Janice traveled in their R.V. seeing the sights and covering all of the lower 48 states. It was during this time that passion of helping people lead her to Habitat for Humanity where she became a national volunteer, helping in the construction of several homes across the country. In 2005 Sue came to Hudson, Fl. (Heritage Pines) to be able to live and play on the golf course and enjoy her love of watching sports especially her most favorite two teams, the Atlanta Braves and Washington Red Skins from her favorite chair.
Sue is survived by her Life Companion of 35 years Janice Benedetti of Hudson, Fl.; daughter, Tracey W. Laws and husband Troy of McLean, Va.; 2 grandchildren Anna Virginia Laws and William Preston Laws both of McLean, Va.; and a host of close friends including Polly and Jack Paterek, Gordon and Roxann Bodine, Joann McDonald, Bonnie Behling, Diane Labalarte, and The Lady Niners at Heritage Pines.
