Jack D. Bowers, 84, of Maryville, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Tennova Residential Hospice. He was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church where he served as deacon, trustee, and treasurer. He was also a member of New Providence Masonic Lodge #128 F&AM and Shriners International. He retired from the Tennessee Department of Revenue and was a graduate of Alcoa High School and the University of Tennessee. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War [Korean Service Medal]. Preceded in death by his parents, Hugh C. and Edna E. Bowers. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn McCammon Bowers; daughters, Sharon Bowers, Carole White and husband Phil; grandchildren, Cari Hines and husband Ryan, Collin White and fiancée Kelly Householder; special cousin, George Woodward and wife Mary; sisters-in-law, Carol Ferguson, Joyce Franklin and husband J.C.; nieces and nephew, Barbara Brown, Frances Shults, and Kory Frank. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2014, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Rev. Steve Musick and Rev. Stan Rushing officiating. The entombment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Monday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville, 982-6812.
